This section is based on the ‘Patrol System’. This is where small group of youngsters work and play together as a ‘gang’. They are led by a youngster of a similar age and supported and guided by adults. The youngster in this age group can be keen to receive and respond to information and enjoy being part of a group. They develop individual thinking, start to establish their own identity and may wish to question, challenge and even reject the notion of ‘Authority’. Peer groups are important to them.
